New Crosswalk and Barnabas Back-To-School Backpacks

The Heart of Wimberley is Getting a Facelift.

A lot is happening in Wimberley! A new crosswalk is going in on Old Kyle Road, between the "big lighted tree" next to Los Olivos and Martha Knies Park (and real close to the KWVH Fishbowl). It's much needed to safely get pedestrians to and from the Square. The concrete features inspirational Wimberley-themed haikus from some of your neighbors, too. There's still some striping that needs to be done, so keep an eye out this week for construction workers.

More progress is coming to the Square next month, when the entire area will be re-paved and re-striped. If you've spent any time there, you know how pockmarked the area is from buried sewer lines, water lines, and good old-fashioned potholes. Progress, folks!

Make a Difference with the Barnabas Back To School Fiesta

It's hard to imagine, but kids are back in school in a little over a month. For 18 years, the Barnabas Connection has provided backpacks, school supplies, and other services to almost 500 students in the Wimberley Valley. It's a great service and much-needed in our community.

You can help make the August 10th event a success through your contributions of time, supplies, and money. Click here to learn more about the event and do your part to help make the school year a success for Wimberley students.

KWVH and VFW Post 6441 Salute Sergeant Marilynn "Charlie" Devitt

Congratulations to Sergeant Devitt, Wimberley's KWVH and VFW Post 6441 veteran of the week. She served in the United States Air Force for a total of 14 years, where she was in Medical Services. Sergeant Devitt served at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Dobbins Air Force Base in Georgia and at Minneapolis-St Paul in Minnesota. She has one child and one grandchild.  Charlie works at our local Wimberley HEB in the Cooking Connection. When you see her, please thank Charlie for her service to this nation and our community.

"Legally Blonde" is Playing Now

The Wimberley Players is now featuring "Legally Blonde," a rousing musical based on the hit movie of the same name. It tells the story of Elle Woods, a fashion-savvy UCLA sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend. Struggling at first, she defies expectations and learns that she can help others while staying true to her delightfully pink personality.

The show runs through August 4, and you can get your tickets online.
