Have You Pledged Yet?
We are smack-dab in the middle of our fall pledge drive here at KWVH. For those of you who have donated... THANK YOU! For those of you who have not... you're in luck, there's still time left.
Donating to Wimberley Valley Radio is the best way to say YES to vital local information, music, and Texan sports.
Over 100 volunteers help bring KWVH to life, supporting over 80 local nonprofits through on-air promotions. As a community station, we rely solely on local and regional donors and underwriters - folks like you.
Last week, we successfully matched a $5,000 donation from the Lind Family Foundation, and this week we need your help to match $2,000 from Byron Eckols and $2,500 from Claire and Chris Sharp.
Please donate today at KWVH.org and help keep community radio strong!
Join Us Next Wednesday for the KWVH
Community Appreciation Party!
We're concluding our pledge drive next Wednesday, October 16 with a community-wide party! Please join us that evening from 5pm to 7pm at the Community Center for a celebration.
We'll have FREE beer, wine, and margaritas and three local artists will play short sets: Maxwell Pearl, Sam Downing, and Mage Buse. You can meet and mingle with KWVH show hosts and hear remarks from the Wimberley Texan volleyball coach, Misty Fletcher-Remmers.
No RSVP or tickets are necessary -- just show up and have fun!
And KWVH is also ground zero for this month's Wimberley Wine Share, taking place this Friday, October 4th on the patio next to the KWVH Fishbowl. It goes from 5pm to 7pm, and as the name implies, bring a bottle or two of wine to share with your friends and neighbors. Hat tip to HEB for supporting this month's Wine Share.
Wimberley Roads: Your Input Wanted
One thing that most of us can agree upon is that Wimberley roads need some work. But where do we get the money to pay for repairs and improvements?
The city wants to hear from you! They're asking area residents to take an online survey to assess the feasibility of funding and prioritizing different roadway maintenance projects.
An engineering firm hired by the city recently surveyed Wimberley's roadways. This map has classified streets that are in most need of repair.
On November 13, the city will host a community town hall meeting at 6pm at the Community Center. Citizens are encouraged to attend and ask questions.
County Hosting Prop A Road Bond Open House
Meanwhile, Hays County is hosting a (hastily scheduled) open house event on Tuesday (tomorrow) at the Community Center from 5pm to 7pm. It's a come-and-go event to discuss Proposition A, the road bond to be voted on this November.
Specifically, it calls for changes to Old Kyle Road. Click here and scroll down about halfway to review the details of the project.
There has been a lot of speculation and commentary about this proposed project, so here's your chance to get the straight skinny from county officials.
Music Fest is Here!
This weekend is the inaugural Wimberley Music Fest, held at the Wimberley VFW rodeo grounds. Tickets are still available, so get yours now!
Hometown hero Sarah Jarosz headlines the show, along with Bri Bagwell, Soma Jerome, HaleyAnna, Susan Gibson, Dylan James Riley, and Reintarnation. Sunday features a great gospel lineup.
Proceeds benefit the Barnabas Connection, Wimberley's local volunteer-based organization that serves those in need or crisis by navigating them to services or providing a hand-up.
