Happy Labor Day, Wimberley!

Enjoy Your Celebration of the American Worker

Hats off to American workers today! We are fortunate to live in a land that still values hard work that has built our nation into what it is today. May we continue to strengthen our country and our own community by working together.

Of course, Labor Day also marks the unofficial end of summer. So enjoy your family and friends, stuff yourselves at those picnics and cookouts, and hopefully enjoy the rain!

Be sure to follow the KWVH Instagram account for a video of our Labor Day salute to Wimberley.

Texans Keep Rolling!

It's been a great start to the season for Texan athletics. The volleyball team is 21-2 for the season, near the top of the 4A state rankings. They play Blanco at home tomorrow night, and they host Burnet later this week.

Meanwhile, the mighty Texan Football team vanquished their rivals at Canyon Lake with a 46-0 drubbing. They'll face the Fredericksburg Billies at Texan Stadium on Friday.

Get a recap of all of the highlights from last week TONIGHT on the KWVH Coaches Show, which airs from 6pm to 7pm. It features football coach and A.D. Doug Warren and is hosted by Jared Robinson. They'll also discuss what to expect in the week ahead for Texan Athletics.

If you want your message to reach local fans and families with Texan Athletics coverage on-line and on-air, then be a sponsor of Texan Athletics on KWVH. Call Susan Sisson at 512-722-3266. And listen live at 94.3 FM or by downloading the iPhone or Android app.

Art Crawl, Sip and Shop are This Month

As the weather cools down (sorta), the fun fall events start heating up in Wimberley. September 5th marks the First Thursday Art Crawl. Wimberley art galleries open their doors at 5pm for special events, food, and entertainment.

On Wednesday, September 18, downtown merchants are hosting the Fall Sip & Shop on the Square. From 5pm to 8pm, participating shops (you can tell them by the balloons) will have drinks, snacks, discounts, and prizes.

These events are designed with LOCALS in mind! It's a great time to get out in milder temps and maybe see our newly-paved Square in all its glory. Let's get out there and support our businesses.

Take Care of Your Mental Health, Wimberley.

Not one, but two great events are coming to Wimberley this month, focusing on mental health. While it's sometimes overlooked, mental health is crucial because it affects how we think, feel, and behave, influencing every aspect of our lives, including relationships, work, and overall well-being.

On Wednesday, September 11 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, a presenter from the National Alliance on Mental Illness will speak and answer questions on "Dispelling Mental Health Myths." Wimberley United Methodist Church is hosting the event. It's free, and dinner and childcare is provided. Register here to help organizers plan for food and staffing.

Then on Saturday, September 14, join your neighbors in "Connection is Key," a suicide awareness and prevention walk. The walk begins at 9am at the Blue Hole Park pavilion across from the playground, and should wrap up by 11am. The event is organized by The Greater Mercy Foundation, the WISD Wellness Center, and Blue Hole Regional Park.
