KWVH Blankets the Valley!

What a weekend it was in the Wimberley Valley. (Heck, what a MONTH it was!) A huge thanks to Tim, Brach, and all the volunteers who made things happen this weekend. Coverage started Saturday morning and went throughout the weekend:

  • DEA Drug Take Back Day saw droves of residents drop by the Constable's office to get rid of unwanted or unused prescription drugs.

  • The Pie Social had 73 adult pies and 16 kids pies entered, easily an event record.

  • ArtsFest at Waters Point is a signature Wimberley event, and hundreds showed up to support regional artisans and to admire dozens of classic cars.

  • The Wimberley Community Baby Shower is a new event that's organized by the Hill Country Women's Health Collective. They gathered and distributed baby clothes, strollers, car seats, and diapers to moms and families.

All of these events are successful with the help of KWVH. Your support -- both financial and volunteer -- helps us fulfill our mission everyday to support the Wimberley community.

Thank you, and help us celebrate next Saturday...

See You Saturday at the Kentucky Derby Party!

Only a few tickets and tables remain, so smash that button below to get yours before they're gone. The air conditioned party features great food, mint juleps, a live and silent auction, lovely hats, and the 150th Run for the Roses.

Are you (or is someone you know) a Swiftie? Then this event is for you! We'll be auctioning off a Taylor Swift concert package that includes four concert tickets, airfare, and hotel to see her perform this November in Indianapolis. You even get an autographed Taylor Swift guitar. That's a prize package you'll likely never, ever, ever see again.

Ranch Road 12/3237 FINALLY Nearing Completion!

Could it finally be happening? Road crews have begun placing the final coat of blacktop onto the intersection at Ranch Roads 12 and 3237.

Expect one-lane roads overnight from 9pm to 5am until Tuesday morning (weather permitting). Flaggers will be stationed during that time to regulate traffic flow.

We're not infrastructure experts here, but it seems that all that's left is some road striping and timing the lights. Soon, we should notice some significant traffic improvements on the south side of town.

Texans Try To Close Out the Season with State Titles

Wimberley Senior Baylee Gold competes this week in Austin at the 2024 UIL State Track & Field Championships in the Girls 100 meter hurdles. She won the Region IV title with a time of 15.17 seconds. It's her second consecutive appearance at State.

Meanwhile, the Boys Golf team tees off at the state tournament this morning at the Legends in Kingsland. The team is led by Jaxon Donaldson, who is seeking his third championship title in four years. He recently won the 4A Region IV tournament by 10 strokes. He even turned heads at KVUE, who named him their athlete of the week.

Finally, the Texan Softball team came up short last weekend in their best-of-three bi-district playoff series against Gonzales. Still, a 22-14 season is an accomplishment... way to go, girls!
